ShipMonk is currently seeking a People & Culture Generalist (Temp) for our fast-growing fulfillment center in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This is a temporary/contract position for 4 months with potential for extension. This position is responsible for supporting our People & Culture Teams. What you'll do:
- Expected duration of this position is approximately four (4) months, with possibility of extension based on business needs
- The P&C Generalist partners closely with the General Manager and operational leaders of the site to drive and monitor critical people & culture initiatives. Lead with data and bring your unique point of view to nurture a positive experience for team members
- Partner closely with recruiters and hiring managers to interview and onboard new team members. Conduct new team member orientation on-site to ensure new hires gain an understanding of the business, benefit plans, policies, and procedures. Be a primary point of contact for team members to ensure they have the information needed to be successful
- Ensure accuracy of attendance tracking by managing rosters weekly, processing time off requests, and updating employment status changes in our HRIS
- Maintain team member files, initiate background screenings, and conduct routine file audits
- Draft and communicate key updates and announcements to team members using our internal messaging tools
- Partner with building leaders to create and captain engagement events and fun calendars for the warehouse
- Attend and participate in employee investigations
- Perform other general HR tasks as assigned
What you'll need:
- 1 to 3 years of experience administering general human resources duties preferred.
- Proficient in Spanish and English strongly preferred
- Must have computer skills and the ability to learn the HRIS system (Paylocity).
- Must be proficient in Google Suite and MS Office products, especially Word and Excel
- Superior verbal/written skills and presentation skills. Good punctuation, spelling, grammar, and attention to detail is a must.
- Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule. The general workweek is Monday through Friday; however, additional time may be required outside of the standard weekday schedule.
