Responsibilities
3.1 The Mold Tech B is required to perform basic mold assembly and maintenance to ensure that tooling is production ready at the time of the scheduled set up.
3.2 Maintains efficiency, housekeeping, safety and GMP’s.
3.3 Assists in mold disassembly and assembly.
3.4 Must provide own tools, toolbox.
3.5 Identify potential issues with tooling through visual inspection.
3.6 Perform core rod PM’s on all tooling scheduled for set up.
3.7 Assists Mold Shop personnel in inventory and other preparation tasks.
3.8 Disassemble, clean, inspect and assemble all IBM tooling including mold components and core rods.
3.9 Prepare IBM tooling for set up and include all necessary components.
3.10 Identify tooling from prepared ser up sheets necessary for set up.
3.11 Perform mold PM’s at scheduled intervals.
3.12 Follow daily instructions from the department’s Group Leader.
3.13 Train new department employees in mold assemble and related techniques.
3.14 Ship molds to other plants with all components included and perform inventory and inspection of incoming molds.
3.15 Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
4.1.1 Basic math skills are required to measure tooling components.
4.1.2 Must have a good mechanical aptitude.
4.1.3 Must be able to read and write in order to understand and complete production/engineering documentation.
4.1.4 Must be capable of sliding heavy molds, in excess of 50 lbs., onto carts, tables and machine surfaces.
4.1.5 Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
4.1.6 Have a good understanding of tooling descriptions by Engineering number and be able to identify mold components used for conversions.
4.2 Education and/or Equivalent Experience
4.2.1 Two (2) years’ experience as a Group Leader in the Production or Maintenance departments and/or demonstrates mechanical ability.
4.3 Physical Requirements/Work Environment
4.3.1 Individual must be capable of sliding heavy molds in excess of 50 lbs. onto carts, tables and machine surfaces.
4.3.2 Must be able to work overtime when needed on weekdays and weekends.
4.3.3. Mold Shop is hot and humid during summer months.
4.3.4 Able to comply with site/department PPE requirements such as steel toe work shoes, safety glasses, ear plugs, hard hat, gloves, etc.
4.3.5 Able to comply with site cGMP requirements – hair nets, beard guards, no jewelry, etc.
4.3.6 Able to stand, bend, squat at various times and at length as required during the work day.
