Summary:
Footprint is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supplier Manager to join our Engineering Department. The Supplier Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality materials and services from our supplier base, supporting our engineering projects and overall business objectives. This role requires strong negotiation skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement supplier management strategies aligned with Footprint's engineering and business goals.
- Identify, evaluate, and select new suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and other key criteria.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Monitor supplier performance, track key metrics, and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Address supplier quality issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define material and service requirements for projects.
- Manage supplier relationships, build trust, and foster open communication.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and new supplier technologies.
- Maintain accurate supplier records, including contracts, performance data, and other relevant information.
- Contribute to cost reduction initiatives by identifying opportunities for savings within the supply chain.
- Support the development and implementation of supplier risk management strategies.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, quality, and operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience1 in supplier management, preferably within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and analytical skills.
- Technical aptitude and understanding of engineering principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and supplier management software.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and supplier quality processes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certifications in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
- Experience with international suppliers.
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
